ProOrtho is proud to announce that Dr. Richard Angelo, one of our orthopedic surgeons, was featured on Becker’s ASC Review’s list of “106 knee surgeons to know | 2017,” a recognition that celebrates distinction and achievement in orthopedics. Surgeons from around the country were selected for the honor based off nominations from Becker’s readership, including other physicians and industry members, and editorial research.
“We sought to highlight surgeons who are leaders in the orthopedic knee surgery field, including those who hold leadership positions,” Laura Dyrda, Editor in Chief of Becker’s ASC Review, said in an email. “We also considered research and innovation when deciding on final inclusions on the list.”
Along with treating patients at our Eastside orthopedic clinics, Dr. Angelo previously served as the Chief of Surgery at Evergreen Hospital, as the president of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, on the Board of Specialties of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and as one of the team physicians for the University of Washington Huskies. He is the principle investigator for the Arthroscopy Association’s Copernicus Initiative, researching new methods to more effectively train tomorrow’s surgeons.
His excellence in orthopedics has garnered him multiple accolades, from being included in the list of “125 Outstanding Knee Surgeons” in America and named a Seattle Met Magazine “Top Doc,” among others.
With over 30 years of experience as an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Angelo utilizes minimally invasive surgery techniques meant to reduce pain, lessen recovery time, and allow patients to return to an active, healthy lifestyle as soon as possible. His specialties focus on the treatment of knee and shoulder disorders including arthroscopic reconstruction, as well as joint replacement.
Becker’s, a leading resource on healthcare and ambulatory surgery center news, published a similar list in 2009, 2010, and 2012. Dr. Angelo was also included on the 2012 list.
